The Supercar Registry - '68 Uniroyal F70-14 Tiger Paw White Stripe Tires

Two Uniroyal Tiger Paw white stripe tires, size F70-14. These tires originally came on a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS396 and were removed shortly after its initial purchase and placed in clean, dry storage. I recently sent an email to Uniroyal (who is now owned by Michelin) and asked them to decode the date code stamped into the sidewall, since it does not conform to the standard DOT format which began in 1971….their response was, “Based on the DOT number you provided the tires were made in August, 1967.” Both tires have exactly the same date code stamp. The tires have no cracking, checking, or dry rot, and look great. There is plenty of tread depth remaining (see pictures).
