Is there a difference between a "truck" 427 block and a "car" 427 block? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

Always check the Suffix and/or casting #'s as it's the big trucks that got the tall-deck blocks and the light duty trucks etc had the short-deck BB Passenger car engines..
Through to the 80's GM Pickups, 1-Tons, Suburbans also Motorhomes too are great places to find the short-deck Passenger car Chevy BB's!.
If you find one don't forget to bring up the truck blocks are worth less story.https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif

Yeah, but these engines you are talking about would be 454s not 427s. I could be wrong but I don't recall any true standard deck 427s being installed in any trucks

Can you tell a 2 bolt 512 from a 4 bolt 512 without removing the pan if the stamping is gone?
