GM eos

I know eos is not called eos any more, but believe it is now called assembly lube or break in additive. Anyone know the new part number? Does still contain ZDDP, correct?

New part number is 88862586

I was told by a buddy that the "new" product labeled
"E.O.S. Engine Assembly Lubricant" is the same content as the old product labeled "E.O.S Engine Oil Supplement" and that by re-labling it for assembly use they get around some epa mandate for lower levels of Zinc, or ZDDP. Said the same of Royal Purple's new "assembly" lube. Reading labels makes it clear that either product is designed to work with oil, will not clog a filter, and can therefore be run for extended periods of time.

Not trying to restart the whole "what oil to use with flat tappet cam" debate. Just wondered if anyone knows if the contents of the new are the same as the old E.O.S.

Thanks.

Re: GM eos

Turns out the new EOS isn't exactly the same. Still one bottle per oil change should take care of things.
