Can anyone identify this speaker?

Found this speaker up in my storage area. It has the same housing as the 1969 Camaro rear speaker. Can anyone tell me what that transformer that is tacked to it is all about? Maybe what the aplication is? Thanks

I don't know what its from but I belive the box on the side is a crossover.

I believe that it is for a Corvette.
