1970 Pontiac Ram Air IV Trans Am...

Pretty for sure, but I am guessing the asking price is wishful thinking. And I bet that the body component fit & finish won't hold a candle to NJSteve's

True...but it shows how little I really know. I never knew that they made a ram air IV in a 70 Trans Am!

I seem to recall that Mickey Hale restored that one. Great color combo and car!

Re: 1970 Pontiac Ram Air IV Trans Am...
Of all the neat Musclecars that Pontiac made(and they made some of the best!) this car has to be one of the Top Five ones. The Super Duty name was somewhat quietly resurrected for these but would disappear again until the famous 1973-74 SD455 that we all know so well. The 4-Speed and Blue interior just make this possibly the ultimate and King of ALL Trans Am. A bold statement for sure, but this car just really rings my bell. Now.....I really like a '70 1/2 Z-28 Camaro with the LT-1 but if I went down to the Pontiac dealer in 1970 and seen this car after looking at new '70 Camaros, it's be a no-brainer! I'd be a Pontiac customer! That awesome motor, that Shaker hood, that beautiful dash, awesome spoilers that were standard RPO's that for some reason become a really big deal when they came as a COPO option on Camaros of the same year. The Angelina Jolie of Musclecars........beautiful but deadly!

Thanks for the compliment! Neat car but price is waaaaay too high given what recent ones have sold for. Also, they messed up on a very simple simple but major item on this car: It's a Los Angeles built car so it should have the black spray-on primer as the underside finish. Only the Norwood, Ohio built cars had the red oxide dipping process at their assembly plant. That would be a very difficult thing to correct now. |

P.S. (by "Los Angeles" I mean the Van Nuys plant, of course.)

This is really a great car. M H did have this car for some time but did not finish it. I bought it while it was at his shop. We changed many incorrect things but left the red oxide alone. I probably should have fixed that too but kind of liked it. The deluxe blue interior is one of my all time favorites. Of all the musclecars I've owned the '70 RA IV TAs are my favorite drivers. For years they were overlooked but I think more have come to appreciate them. I wish him luck with his sale.

Yes the Blue dlx guts make the car absolutely irresistable... but White over Blue had me with the 67 PC. Understated sport... with out the flash. makes me do a double take and then I realize just how clean looking the color scheme looks.
