69 Z/28 CLUTCH FAN
 
iam getting differant views on what fan clutch is correct for a 69 z car on the crg research site it shows the clutch for all 69 chevys ? and a differant one for l78 & copo several people are telling me the style for the l78 is correct for the z ? the clutch i have is like the all 69 picture @ crg and is 6 inchs across in size

Jerry M has an interesting explanation in his book.Apparantly although the fan blade design is identical on the Z/28, L72 and L78, there are technical differances. The Z/28 and the BB cars got both the stamped and unstamped fans, Technically speaking, both fan assemblies would be correct for 302, 396, and 427 solid lifter engines.

That's not what it says.
&quot;The L78/COPO used part number 3946050 (stamped CZ) and the Z28 used 3946804 (stamped CV), both Eaton-supplied units.&quot;
