69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
Hey Guy's, I have lurked here off and on for a few years. The information here is probabally the most informative of any site. I never thought Id have anything worth posting but My uncle has Nova Which he believes may be a supercar or at least a 396/375. We have really no history on the car. It does appear to have spent it's life as a race car. Has the 3/8 Fuel line. Here is the vin and trim tag information. Any information is greatly appreciated.
VIN 114279w434631 Tag ST 69 11427 WRN305137 80Y TR733 71 8PN 03A A3 Thanks! You can also friend me on facebook. We are in Frederick Maryland. |
Re: 69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
Welcome aboard Lemmy. Your "8PN" is most likely a "B PNT". Does/did the Nova have a black vinyl top?

Re: 69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
Hi Lemmy,
I can tell you that your vin does not match any of the 22 vins we have on file. The choice of options on the car are also an indicator that it is unlikely a Yenko car - not impossible, but unlikely. The A 3 on the bottom of the trim tag indicates that the car has a black painted interior to match the black vinyl items and 3 exterior moldings - 1 is definitely drip rail to go with the v/t, the other 2 are likely door frame and body side. The 733 interior - deluxe bench or buckets?? I forget..... |
Re: 69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
What's original as far as drivetrain parts?.
If you think the engine is, get the casting #'s also stamped info from the extended deck surface in front of the pass. side head.. Engine original or replaced, get the code off the rear axle tube if you think it's the original.. Welcome aboard!. ~ Pete |
Re: 69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
It is a shame but the trim tag does not give any information about the original drive train. In addition to the engine stuff mentioned post some pictures of the underside, rear end, trans crossmember and core support. This may help also.

I will get pics for you. I wish the state would not have put the privacy to act include title searches. Back in the day I traced some cars back to the original owner and got the story on the original purchase, old pics and some documentation. I even have dealer paperwork for a COPO RS Camaro, Prob the rarest car I have come across ever. This is one car where I need this as there is really nothing. The org engine and trans are long gone. I will try to get some pics and post them. If anyone is close to Frederick Md and would like to see it in person that is not a problem. |
Re: 69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
-several clear Core support pictures would help, measure how big the hole is.
-what is the axel code? |
Re: 69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
The Privacy Act of '96 does not prevent title searches, it just made getting them a little more difficult. PA is pretty good, MD is one of the best states!

I know you can still get them. They blackout all the contact information. name, address ect. |
Re: 69 Nova Trim Tag Info Question
If you can't get any contact information, than that doesn't really help much trying to locate previous owners for history on the car.
