What's a rare '61 Pontiac lightweight worth?
I was approached about buying a 1961 Pontiac Ventura SD389 Tripower, aluminum bumpers (front & rear), race history, unrestored perfect survivor. I don't know these cars very well, or as well as the later '63 cars. Is there someone I can talk to who would know these values?

There will be a restored one going through Mecum Indy in May, I know that that's quite a while from now, but I'm sure not many trade hands. It is a PHS documented lightweight.

Hey, is it black with blue bench, 8 lugs, 4sp car residing up north of Seattle? THAT car is an original 318hp/4sp car with the SD stuff added.....

Is the one you're thinking of an original with 1400 miles? I can't recall the interior color, but car was set up with Mickey Thompson's help, held a track record, etc.. Who is the owner of the car you know north of Seattle?

Re: What's a rare '61 Pontiac lightweight worth?
Ventura is the name of an interior option popular on Pontiacs, so we might be talking about a Catalina Ventura here.

Well, it was in '62 & 63 but in '61 the Ventura was a stand alone model. |

Yep, my bad. Its a Catalina. When I saw "Seattle" and "61 Pontiac SD" my mind went to that black car. Of course the Ventura with that ritzy interior is another deal. Charlie, PM sent regarding current owner.
