My '69 Z28 Find
Hi Guys,
A few people know from following my Facebook page that I was recently turned onto a fantastic '69 Z28. I owe the lead to Jeff Boone (69L78 here). I thank him for his enthusiasm. He is true good-nature hobbyist! I had Jeff inspect the car Monday and Wednesday I drove truck and trailer to purchase the car. Ok... onto the Z. Very early 1969 Z28. Very rare "M" code block, original motor, trans, rear, heads, carb, 837 alt, 9204 master, power steering, flat hood, console, no gauges, 729 interior (deluxe with woodgrain), late '68 dated seat belts, white houndstooth, pre-x code tag but has "X3" on the bulk head, even has the original smog system (pump, hoses, inlets, diverter valve, check value and all hardware) sitting in a box for reinstall too. Will need 1/4's later on + a trunk floor and of course a restoration but as we begin to bring the car back to road-worthy condition, I'm continuously impressed by the car's refreshing original state. Plans for it now include a thorough cleaning, dusting, new carpet, belts, hoses, fluids, plugs, wires, shifter rebuild, t handle, sun tach, traction bars, a good set of shocks, and tires. When all that is done, she'll get some new front end bushings and a wheel alignment because I need a driver! The car was authenticated by Jerry MacNeish too. Onto the photos... Have a nice night. Thanks, Dan Rough but man does she have character http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._DSC0019-6.jpg aftermarket hood from the past owner - yes emblem will be corrected tomorrow! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._DSC0021-5.jpg dirty interior... just wait for it... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._DSC0022-4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._DSC0023-4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._DSC0025-4.jpg |

Re: My '69 Z28 Find
Score of the evening!
The car had no paperwork present during the time of the sale but was convinced something would turn up when we took apart the interior for cleaning and carpet. Sure enough, the broadcast sheet for the car was under the driver's footwell area. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._DSC0045-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4..._DSC0046-1.jpg Items include dealer 218 - zone 10, tag matching 158440 Norwood #, 729 trim, 71-71 paint, DZ motor... Does anyone know about the "XF" trans? I know its the original M21. And finally with the original hood on it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/_DSC0066.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...6/_DSC0064.jpg Maybe I'll get around to washing it tomorrow? Thanks for looking. Dan |
Re: My '69 Z28 Find
Boy o boy looks like you saved the broadcast sheet just in time. Have you tried turning over the engine yet?

Very cool to see a 69 Z28 with a flat hood. I love the white cowl too. Mike |
