I've heard of building clones . . .
. . . and I've heard of people making claims of COPO status when there is none . . . but a clone of a car sold at a certain dealer?

I think that's done all the time, isn't it? Tribute cars wearing Baldwin-Motion paint schemes, badges, etc., or the hundreds of Yenko clones out there, or in the Pontiac community, we see Royal Pontiac body emblems quite often.

A Yenko or B-M car has an identity.
A Berger Impala? Just a big car with a 427 transplant. |
