SS/D

What motor/trans combo was this in the late 60's early 70's? 396/375 and 4 speed?

It moved around every year through there, you'll have to pick a specific year(s)...being straight "D" means it's a stick, but it could've been anything from a 427 big car or 396 smaller car early to an L72 to an LS6 (I believe?) later on...I don't *believe* any small block stuff was in SS/D territory, but I'm not up on the SBC stuff, but I be Sammy could tell us. You have to remember, each year something hotter/faster came off the line so NHRA had to adjust, until about '71...then the NHRA readjusted everything in '73 until like '05 or so when they added the AH, AA, etc., stuff.

Thanks for the quick reply Rob. The car is a 1968 Nova....probably ran in 1969 and 1970.

Here's the corresponding page from my original Class Guide...(I'll try and get a scan of the class breaks from the '68-'72 seasons this afternoon):
