Frankenmuth Michigan Auto Fest

I went up to Frankenmuth Michigan and experienced their annual Auto Fest this past weekend.. I accidentally stumbled on this show. The Wife and I had planned a weekend trip there and did not realize the car show was this same weekend!! It didn't get any better than this..

The show was incredible to say the least!! It was one of the nicest outdoor shows I have been to.. There had to be 3 thousand cars there.. Friday night they close Main St. and let the cars cruise and park. They had a parade of Chevrolet cars by year to celebrate Chevrolets 100th anniversary..There were live bands on almost ever other street corner. It is a big street party. Then on Saturday and Sunday they have the show in the grassy field area behind the Bavarian Inn...

There were lots of vendors there as well... I picked up some Meguiars products and other neat stuff... Chevrolet had a very cool display of all their high performance engines starting in the early 60s to current. The engines were all assembled in see through containers for display...

If you never have been to this show I strongly recommend it!! It is a nice, family event and there is lots of shopping for the wives while the guys check out the cars.... The show is always the weekend after Labor Day in September.. Plus there is lots of NICE Michigan Muscle there!!

I took lots of pictures and will post them soon...

Rich

I've been going to Frankenmuth for 23 years now. We spend the weekend there. It is one of the biggest shows in Michigan. Always some very nice cars. They pick 25 cars from the 2500 or more that are registered as "Top 25" , best of class. The 34 Ford that I just built won. Here's a short video of my junker.
I bought the front wheels from "Scuncio", AKA Tony, a member here.

Tony,Any time you want to get rid of that "junker" just let me know as I will be at your door with a trailer to take it off of your hands.
I probably saw your car go by all weekend as my wife and I were in the Chevrolet Performance trailer display friday, saturday, and sunday as the dealer from the area that was there as performance support to answer questions and help people. It was a long but very fun show. The one bad part about "working" the show is that you dont have the ability to go out and sightsee.
It looks like we are going to sign up for next year already if we can as it was a major exposure for us at Berger.

Thanks guys.

Kendal...we were at your display twice. Very nice set-up you had. Hope to see you next year.
When I started this build, I thought for around 50 grand I could build a pretty nice car. I was off by about 30 grand. It just sort of steam-rolled once I got started. Is is a killer ride though.
