SBC Valve Covers

I just picked up these SBC valve covers. The both have HL-3455693-P and HR-4455693-P on them. Anyone have an idea what they are for exactly? When I checked out the part numbers it came out to 1969-1981 LT1.

The guy I bought them from said they came off his dad's 1972 Z28.

Thanks in advance, Kurt

I think they first appeared in '69 on the 302 in a dull finish, then in '70/'70.5 on the LT-1's in Vettes and Z's. I believe you could get the on all LT-1's or HP 350's through '80 or so.

Push in rubber cap started in 1971. Those are 1970 or earlier.

Re: SBC Valve Covers

Push in rubber cap was 1971 ONLY. 1970 and 1972 and later were all the same covers visually but may have carried a different part number on the inside.

Learned something again. Thanks Matt. That's why I hang out here.
So are 1971 worth more because of one year only??????

A lot of people do not know this, but the ones with dripers came on the late 11A 69 Zs
