Table Saw Stop Test

Pretty cool invention, for saving a digit or two.
I'd like to see the inventor ram his finger in there at full speed first,(not a snails pace),before I felt competent about it.

I've seen this before and guessed what the video was when you posted the link. What's the next thing he does wrong by you? Should he be using his right index finger or thumb rather than his left middle finger? I would rather have it than not, when operating a saw. The glass is half full.

Full glass here,he's done nothing wrong...who said he did?...you did.
I applaud his American ingenuity, and grateful to see it evolve and help.
I'd like to see how it works in a real world application,i.e. a real finger feeding the blade faster, then just a slow tip touching it in the example he provided...and not mine, thank you very much.
I don't cut wood on a table saw that slow...do you?

Maybe I misunderstood the comment about throwing in his finger at a snails pace. I would expect if you threw a finger in faster that it would cut deeper. I'm reasonably confident the salty blood will be the true trigger in a more "true to life" expereince. When the fellow was putting his hand in the cooler, it probably was salt water. That said, I would much rather have a deep cut- even if it hit bone, than a finder on the floor, but I think you lead with that point. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Rick, I was over at the hospital the other night when a fellow came in that could have really used this technology. He had cut off all of his fingers in an accident with a table saw!

The guy was pretty calm and the Doctor assured him with the technology they have today they could sew them back on and he would have plenty of use. Then the Doctor asked where the fingers were and the guy blew a gasket and screamed "I couldn't pick them up!"
