Hey Ken--I remember ALL of those places. Do you remember Skip's Fiesta Drive in on North Ave. next to the Polk Bros. warehouse? It was either in Melrose Park or Stone Park--I think it was unincorporated back then. Don't forget the Pie Pan in Skokie. These were the places where we hung out to pick up races back in '62-'67!

Wow, Mother's Pinball, I never thought I'd see a pic of that place! My brother and I drove his 68 GTO there to enter a foosball tournament. We were good, good enough for the local arcades and bowling alleys. But we got our butts whipped early on by a couple guys that I think were toying with us just to keep the crowd interested. There were times when I never saw the ball go past my goalie.

Old Chicago is now an Auto Auction Arena. The original monolithic concrete building is long gone.

Thanks for the link, great memories.

Pretty cool stuff. I lived about one mile from the Jensen Toboggan Slides, our grade school went to Kiddieland on the last day of school each year, dated a girl in High School whose family owned Fisherman’s Dude Ranch……

Re: Chicago Trivia

I worked at Dispensa's Kiddie Kingdon. Ran a little kiddie rocket ride where the kids went up in these little rocket cars and went in a circle and shot their toy guns at me. I worked there about a week and couldn't take it anymore with the kids shooting at me and the sun beating down on my burnt face and arms!
i think I was about 14 at the time so that would have been around 75.
