u-coat it floor coating
I have floor coating that lifted under one tire and has been down
for one year.I contacted manufacture twice and they have promised to send a test kit for a sample.Just curious if anyone has had like problem with u-coat it? |
Re: u-coat it floor coating
Have a neighbor that applied UCoat it maybe 6-7 years ago and has had a similar problem. Problem started showing up within a couple years of application. We're in a climate that gets the hot summers and cold winters if that makes a difference. They also put a salt brine on streets at times in the winter.
He's usually pretty particular with things so I wouldn't think it was in his lack of preparation with the surface. Floor currently has many areas of lift now. |

Re: u-coat it floor coating
Check to see if the wheel where the coating lifted has any break fluid weeping from that wheel Caliper/cylinder. If so, even just a minuscule amount will eat up the floor coatings. Gas won't tear them up (as fast) and oil won't damage them, but break fluid will kill them.

Re: u-coat it floor coating
I tried the u-coat too and it lifted and they gave me the same song and dance with the test kit. After 5 calls I was thru with them. Since then, I redid my floor with the coating they use in aircraft hangars. It's 3 parts a acid to etch the concrete, a primer and then the base. It's been 10 years and I have not had anything pull up, rip, or crack. I have had everything from cars, big trucks, combines, and halftracks on it. Really great stuff, only kickback was the price.

Re: u-coat it floor coating
Thanks for all the feedback,i prepared floor exactly per instructions.
I have called twice and test kit is in mail still waiting, the floor has not had any hard usage.Has only had couple oil spots in a different location,as of now i would not recommend u-coat it.I will update with outcome, may prevent a headache for others:Yes it is West Virginia. |
