Dennis Gage was in town at the BMW Euro Fest
The BMW Eurofest is an annual car show held the 3rd weekend of October and open to all marques of European Heritage. The BMW Zentrim (visitors center) overlooking interstate 85 about an hour south of Charlotte NC is a great location for the Euros and has always done a knock out job. I was working on the 69 Z about 2:00 this afternoon and remembered the show was sometime this month...ran upstairs and googled it... over at 4:00 today CRAP! I only live about 7 miles straight up 85 so it I hoped I wasn't too late to get s few good shots. Until I realized there was a film crew waiting for me to clear "frame" I had no idea Gage there! Mercedes Benz was chosen this year and there were some great Gullwings! https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...dennisgage.jpg https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_009.jpg https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_033.jpg https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_043.jpg https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_082.jpg https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_074.jpg https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_078.jpg |

Cool stuff! I drove past that facility when I 'rescued' my sister from a bad relationship in NC...in 2002.
Thanks for sharing James! |

This gorgeous example is Unit Number 10. Yes, the 10th Gullwing produced, and he drove it from Atlanta, I caught it in the parking lot as he was leaving!
Luggage ready for the trip back to Atlanta, https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_177.jpg Atlanta is 3 hours or less south on I-85. Given the opportunity I would consider the longest route possible via every back road and small town I could find. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...tofest_184.jpg https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...umberten_5.jpg One would be hard pressed to pick a more fitting machine to take in the colors of fall. |

As difficult as it was, I did manage to twist my own arm. |
Re: Dennis Gage was in town at the BMW Euro Fest
All joking aside, having forgotten and missed the 4 previous events, I am happy to have made it at all. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Exceptional photography!</div></div> Thank you, I first studied photography 25 years ago and have enough college art/graphic design classes to more than minor in it. I owe it to great professional artists/instructors and supportive parents willing to shell out the money for art/photo supplies for 20+ years. I find reflections in chrome, glass, and flowing body lines fascinating. Typically I take hundreds of fine details shots looking for something to draw or paint, only to realize days later I have few overall shots of the vehicles. This is an older drawing of my reflection in a 1938 Jaguar Saloon Fender. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...d_8inx15in.jpg DRAWING - 288 GTO I did 21 years ago https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...gtodrawing.jpg ACRYLIC ON CANVAS _ radial airplane engine detail https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...1-pict0903.jpg DRAWING - XK120 detail https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...le_drawing.jpg PHOTO - Vintage Maserati Grill reflection https://www.yenko.net/attachments/use...relfection.jpg |
