WIW 69 Impala SS 427 Convt.

Here are a few pics of a 69 SS427 Impala, red on red with white top, 4-speed, needs qtrs. and right front fender for sure. What do you guys think this car is worth as is and restored?

Re: WIW 69 Impala SS 427 Convt.
Sadly they are only bringing somewhere in the $30-60k range when done. That is the hard part as it cannot be restored for that kind of money. Unfortunately and assuming it has paperwork I do not think that car is worth likely more than about $5-6k as is. I sold a MINT bodied SS427 convert without it's original engine and trans for less than that only 4 years ago. Likely the frame is going to be in very poor shape and require a LOT of work to get all the pits out and finished nicely. That body will also require a lot more than quarters and a fender. I would bank on a LOT of bodywork will be needed. I know of a fairly similar shaped SS427/425 auto convert that the owner was asking $13k with paperwork and I would not pay it.

Also, it seems as if the 67-68's are more popular?

Cool car with a four speed. Would need some more info to put a value on it. Is it a numbers matching car, is there paperwork P-O-P? Is the car local? Does it run? Mileage? Could be a beauty, but you will spend a ton to get it that way!

Dan

I'm on it, Dan That is indeed an uber-cool car.....but as Rick Nelson correctly points out, you'd be upside down in a heartbeat doing a proper restoration on it, even if you got the car for free The positives: original air cleaner (usually long gone), smog still present & accounted for, three pedals, buckets and non-butchered console.....and McCreary white lettered snow tires??? The negatives: the body, the likely condition of the undercarriage based on what we're seeing here, finding parts, and the fact that the 69's seem to be the red-headed bastard stepchild of the 60's full size Chevies I like it nonetheless |
