That would be one hell of a project but what a sweet car when done. Notice the not often seen SS427 side markers and painted gills. Over 10,000 hits since the end of January.

My '68 Chevelle had those side markers with the SS over the 396 just like that Impala.
Would that have indicated an early car or some other trait? You never see those markers with the SS in them. |

The foil "SS427" marker was indeed found on the early cars before going to the standard cast 427 marker but I do not know when the change over was done. There was also a red 427 foil marker made as well. (see below)

Should have kept this one back in 1972! L72 Motion-Prepped 4 speed with 4.10 gears. What a blast to drive.

The guy selling that 68 SS427 convert has been trying to sell it for a loooong time on the Impala SS427 site, without success.

That's Dave Jackson's car in Vancuver,he's a 68 Z24 freak, last count I think he was at 12-68 Z24 cars.
