Teaser for the day.....What is it?
I have no idea what this is. Appears to be some sort of "Stabilizer" for a metal lathe? Range of motion for the "grip" is less than 1/2 inch. Unfortunately, I inherited this from my grandfather's tools recently. Only clue I have is that he worked for Ingersoll Rand. Stamping is "ZEUS" and "DBGM"

That is a nurling tool I think. For a lathe. If it is a nurling tool it would put the nurled finish on something like a punch. I used one close to that when I worked in the automotive factory. It was the tool and die makers tool, he helped me make a set of punches on a lathe.

Now that I look at the pictures some more I don't see the nurling wheels unless they are really small?
