Grease Trailer Hitch ball? yay or nay?

Do I grease the trailer hitch ball on my wife's truck/horse trailer before use? It is a gooseneck/5th wheel type-B-W Hitch.

Was at the gathering Saturday and some say to grease and others say it is not needed.

Was curious to see what you all doing before I contact the manufacturer. There is no mention of it in the trailer owners manual.

Thanks

I grease mine, seems like to me any metal to metal needs grease

Grease it! Metal-to-metal wear and a sloppy fit can actually trigger the knock sensor in the engine block to yank out timing. Ask me how I know this.

I was told once that grease can affect the grounding for your trailer lights.

I use lithium grease! My trailer lights work.

It's been a long time since I've used a trailer, but IIRC, most (if not all) trailer electrical connectors had their own ground wire, which was supposed to be grounded to the frame of the tow vehicle

Grease it!

Lights should have there own ground. Cumby's lights use coal oil and require a lighter to function!!
