Hurst Ram Rod in a 67 Nova

As a result of my clutch failure and lack of admiration for my TKO 600, I am giving thought to an Auto Gear M22. If I went that direction, has anyone used a Ram Rod (or Vertigate) in a 66 /67 Nova with a bench seat?

Thanks,

Tim

Not sure about the Ramrod but the Mr Gasket vertical gates normally sit back a little further than a normal shifter.. I would think this style shifter will not work with your bench seat especially with the reverse lever jutting out the back.

Back in the 80's my buddy had a hurst super shifter three in his 67 with a bench seat and that shifter sits in the same spot as a ramrod but you will have to cut your tunnel up a lot to fit the straight rods.

It's already cut up for the Tremec. Good to hear!

The Ramrod shifter is way more compact than the Vertigate. On the one I installed for the Vega, I used a standard set of shift rods and modified them to "hug" the transmission. There was no need for heavy cutting of the trans tunnel.

I have a 66 Chevy II 327 350hp ZI ,12 bolt 3.73 ,lakewood bell housing ,Muncie m21 with a super shifter and the tunnel needed some mods to make work but is nice to take out and bang some gears in....
