the last known title for #66 zl1 was traced to tom abrams in Michigan I bought the motor on ebay I would love to have the body please help me if anyone can

ZL1 number 66 is not just a "body". it is a restored ZL1 with a correct date coded ZL1 engine and the owner has no interest in selling the Camaro or buying the "eBay" drivetrain components.

If the original, correct, engine to this ZL1 is out there I would think current owner of the car would want that engine. Just me thinking out loud.

(This is a hypothetical all ssuming the block is real). Seeing that the ZL-1 is restored, it is probably worth half a million or so. That being said, it would be more feasible to reunite the block with the car. Maybe now that the block has a new owner, the two owners can get together assuming the new owner does not try and hold the block for ransom. Let's face it, the block is only worth all the money to the guy with the car. If the new owner of the block wants to make a small profit, that would be perfectly reasonable in my opinion. If I owned the car, I would DEFINITELY want the block for the price it sold for on Ebay plus a small 'finder's fee'...

just my opinion..it sure would be great to see the two together again !!! Cant someone help make this happen?? Charley to the rescue?? Stefano??

Why would the deal require money? Would a trade for the other #66 engine be satisfactory?

I have known about the Engine and drive train which was recently put up for sale on eBay for years.

It was for sale by Dennis Tuttle and we choose not to buy it, then or now.

The new owner of the engine has contacted me and he is now aware that #66 exists and is safe and sound.

Let's put this to rest. #66 has is restored with a correct replacement ZL1 engine and the car is not for sale.

Interesting, the ad says the engine was never blown. This is not what I was told from the dealer.

To me, if that engine can be verified as the one that #66 was born with (as in air-tight, bullet-proof, whatever you want to call it), then it would be a shame for it NOT to be between the fenders OF car #66. This car sure has had quite a life and like the Energizer Bunny, just keeps on going!
This whole story reminds me of a '34 Ford street rod that had (and I think still does have) a numbered L88 engine as a means of power. The VIN (which I do NOT have recorded) was out there for everyone to see and try to "marry" back to the 'Vette it left the factory in. Now, the current owner of the '34 will NOT sell the car, and from what I'm told, won't even entertain the idea of re-powering the car and selling the L88 mill. I think it is kind of a shame, that if that certain special Corvette does still exist (remember, I don't have the VIN) that the engine and car can not somehow be reunited.

It does seem silly about that l88. Just because the car has a vin stamped l88 it doesn't mean it will go any faster than if he built a "321" block and build it to l88 specs. He could sell that vin stamped motor for 20,000 to the real car owner if it still exists and at least 10,000 if the car does not exist.
