New Meaning To "Rat" Motor

2 Attachment(s)
After letting my car sit untouched for 20 years (yes,I am ashamed), I am starting the restoration process of my 69 396 Camaro. I have owned this car for 34 years. Upon disassembly, I thought I would share a pic of the headers I removed. Gives a whole new meaning to "Rat Motor".

The worst is when you dont realize they are in there and fire up the engine after sitting for a long period with open headers and one of them comes shooting out onto the shop floor.. lol

That's pretty funny......it's what I immediately envisioned when I saw that initial picture....

Had a set of Flowmasters on the storage rack in back of shop for a few eons -- installed them, fired up the motor and wah-lah ... a herd of mice were evicted in a heart-beat. LOL

It's a good idea to wear a mask and gloves when dismantling an old car that's been sitting. Here in the Okanagan valley we have Black Widows, occasional scorpions, and the odd rattlesnake hiding in old cars.

Not too mention that rat and mice feces can kill or at the very least make you very sick. I always were a mask and gloves when disassembling these cars. Here is one now, aka "Desert Rat"!
