Firestone redline issue?

Call Coker or where ever you bought the tire and let them know. They don't want that tire on the road. I just had my Firestone wide oval red line road forced and was a high number {69} and called Coker and they gave me a tire at cost with free shipping. My tire was from 08 but like you...no miles. They may replace it for free? Can't hurt to try right? Ask for Dylan...he takes care of stuff like this.

Best of luck! Keep us informed on the results as I'm sure there are many here that have Red line Firestones on their cars. How many road force their tires or just regular balance? Bias tires need all the help they can get.

My tire is at the tire place now getting done and will let you know if better then it was.

It is called <span style="text-decoration: underline">air infiltration</span>.....trapped air between the inner liner and the exterior of the tire.

Somewhere in the inner liner (interior of the tire), there is a small hole/cut that is allowing the compressed air to migrate out through the casing. This trapped, compressed air will naturally look for the path of least resistance, in other words, the weakest point in the tire construction and try to release itself. The bubble you see is just that, the trapped &quot;migrating air&quot; trying to makes it's departure from your tire through the side wall/turn up ply area.

Do not run this tire, it is what we call in the industry, an &quot;immediate air loss&quot; waiting to happen. And that sometimes can be catastrophic.

Sorry for all the verbage.....deflate this tire and remove it!!!!

Ironic that Coker is having sidewall problems with their Firestone Redlines. In 1967 I bought a new 67 GTO with Firestone Redlines and the
sidewalls failed at about 3000 miles. As I remember they were having union issues at the time which they chose to blame it on. They replaced all four
Tires under warranty.

Dylan was great to deal with. They are going to replace tire. I bought tires in 09 when the tire was $169, so I have to pay the difference in the current price $209. So all in all I am happy with that. He said they haven't had any issues with this tire. Just glad the tire didn't have an issue while I was out with car! Thanks again for the heads up on who to contact!
