Copo or not

I trying to find out if my 69 Camaro is a COPO or not. I will list what I have and this is what I have found out online to see if it is or not.

Searching the websites this is what I have found out. I know that it is not a ZL1 COPO but maybe an L71 though. It is a late model 69 and on the tag it has an Z11 and I found where some COPO at the end of 69 where built under the Z11. I found that no 396 Camaro's where built under Z11. When I bought it six years ago the previous owner for some reason had Z/28 emblems on it and I knew that it wasn't since it did not have any of the items that Z/28 have and right off the back it was an automatic.

I bought the GM manufacturers book and that has the codes and looked at items in it to determine what I have. It has the heater lines in the middle of the firewall where the Big Blocks heater lines are built. It also has the motor mounts where the left one is 1/2 inch bigger than the right (passenger side) and supposedly this was done to give clearance for the gear box. It also has one fuel line coming from the fuel tank as the COPO came with. It has the 140 speedometer. It has the 5 leaf springs that where installed on big blocks. The transmission cross-member according from the book there is two of them that where installed one for a 350 and one for the 400 and this one has the one for a 400 transmission. It also has a certain weld that supposedly one done on the drivers side for the exhault.

I have tried to find the list of the L71 but someone supposedly took it off the internet and now it is hard to find someone that has it.

So if someone can direct where to go or whom I can contact to get assurance if it is or not.

Thanks

Yes, I know but they were also made for other Camaros. This car is not a convertible it has a black vinyl top. In the manufacturers book that I have it does say that Z11 where done for special vehicles at the end of the year. It has 10D so October 4th week.

Sorry I do not know why I wrote down Z11 it should be X11. Maybe the key next to it and accidently pressed that key.

Can you take a picture of the trim tag and the engine bay? Maybe someone on this site can see what you got.

Welcome to the site. Post pics etc and we can help figure out what you have. Now that we are no longer talking Z11 it sounds promising.

Sounds like you may have found something. FWIW, L71 is Tri-Carb 435hp 427, while L72 is 425hp 4 bbl and COPO 9561 engine.
