NFL 2014

1 Attachment(s)
That was a helluva game..We haven't won in San Francisco since 1985.
They even covered the 47.5 spread.
What happened to us in the first half?
What happened to San Fran in the second half?
Your brand new stadium home opener will forever be known as the game the Bears Won.
I'm sorry, but after last weeks debacle, this needs to be said.

WAHOO!

I don't believe ANYONE picked the Bears in this game! Even the Chicago sports talk guys (radio) capitulated. All week they kept saying that they hoped it just wouldn't be a total blowout as it had been in previous years.

The odds were against the Bears:

1) Bears lost their opener to a sub-par Buffalo Bills team.
2) The 49ers destroyed the Cowboys (in Dallas) in their opener.
3) The 49ers were playing their first game in their new stadium.
4) The Bears defense was awful last year, and the 49ers have a great pass and run attack.
5) The Bears haven't beaten the 49ers in San Francisco in 29 years, and nearly every meeting between these two, in San Francisco, has been a BLOWOUT.
5) On Sunday afternoon, Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall, the two star Bears wide receivers, were both listed as questionable due to injuries.
6) The first Bears possession ended in a punt, which was blocked and recovered by the 49ers.
7) Charles Tillman, one of the best DB's in the game, was injured, perhaps out for the year.
8) Colin Kaepernick was running wild against the Bears.
9) Jay Cutler gets a BRUTAL helmet spear into his chest from a rushing 49er lineman. Everyone held their breathe, wondering if Cutler may be out with broken ribs.
10) Chris Conte (Bears) gets injured, and is out for the game.
11) The Bears running game, led by Matt Forte, was completely shut down.

Incredibly, it was only 10-0 at halftime. Maybe the Bears could sneak out of San Francisco and only lose 21-0 or 21-3?

Then, midway through the 3rd quarter, everything turned around. The defense picked off Kaepernick, Jay Cutler began hitting the "twin towers" WR's of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery, leading to an AMAZING comeback and a HUGE upset! The 49er fans will be reeling from this one. They were hoping for a perfect season.

Two things came out of this game.

1) Jim Harbaugh has lost control of his team to an extent. Undisciplined players, WAY too many penalties.
2) Jay Cutler is a one tough SOB.

My earlier reply should've read the 47.5 OVER,not spread.
I took the Bears friday, getting 7 points & took the over of 47.5..it later went to 48.
Something just told me to take them, but I admit at 1/2 time I was ready to question that something.
It all may have come @ a high price though.Although many Bears are on the injury list, looks like Tillman might have suffered a career ending injury as well.

I think part of the problem is that there are far too many possible infractions these days.

Great ending to the Seahawk game on Sunday. Russell Wilson reminds me of Joe Montana. Just when you think the game is lost he marches calmly downfield and wins. Peyton worked his own magic to get Denver back into the game but Russell worked his to win.
