Rear Tube stamping RA?
Anyone know what original application a 12-Bolt w/ tube stamping 'RA' came from? Housing casting is 3917124 w/ 4-Series EDB 30174 posi assy, I expect it's from a 68/69 but not near me so haven't asked for measured width dimensions yet being casting could be from a late '67 car too? Complete Tube stamping is clearly RA 0530 K...the K for Canada McKinnon built so maybe from Canadian A-Body production including Beaumonts? Thanks! ~ Pete |

Re: Rear Tube stamping RA?
Thanks for trying bbbenny, I can't find it anywhere either??? No RA but I see a few R#'s listed a few years later although not the 3917124 housing which was 67-69 only wasn't it? If it works, here's a pic below. ~ Pete https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...ubera0530k.jpg |
Re: Rear Tube stamping RA?
It can't be an original posi housing since it does not have the Eaton code stamp, however, if it has the posi fill plug it may have been since I don't know Canadian stamping standards. Most likely Beaumont since Canadian Chevelles still had conventional rear end stamps.

Re: Rear Tube stamping RA?
Thanks and good thoughts as the EDB 30174 posi assy. is separate from the housing so very possible they didn't originally belong together? Didn't Canadian built Chevelles and Beaumonts go down the same assy. lines together and are you saying the Chevelles had different rear stampings than the Beaumonts...anything's possible and great if a known fact but just somehow seems unlikely? Again the housing is # 3917124 so possible the RA is Canadian only...I'll confirm dimensions to see if it's a '67 or 68/69 style. ~ Pete |

Re: Rear Tube stamping RA?
the posi unit should have a date code on the flange that u can check also...

Re: Rear Tube stamping RA?
Thanks fellas and I'll get the #'s off the posi assy. also spring and plate to plate dimensions of the housing. The linked truck site #'s show RA listed for '68 1/2 ton w/ 3.07 gears but it wouldn't have the 3917124 housing...would it? I didn't see any Caminos or Sprint listings there but expected they'd be listed w/ A-Body codes when I looked before, again no R#'s show up until I think '72 and no RA?
