SMS fabric

I know in the past members here had issues with service and delivery from this vendor. Last week I ordered black 731 material for a deuce interior. I received a tracking number apx 2 days after placing the order. Perhaps their turn around time has been improved. Just passing along my experience.

This must be a record turn around.....infact, I'll say it is indeed a record.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: SMS fabric

I would look at Legendary for the 731 interior...they made a beautiful set of covers for our 70 red L78. My understanding is the SMS basket weave vinyl material is not "as thick" as it should be. One of the guys from the Nova club bought some and had to have the shop add backing material to it because it was so thin. Call Chris Robbins at Legendary.
**best part the covers come ready to install...no upholstery work needed.

Chris at Legendary is Neal's son, they had 4 Deuces at one time, so that is why Chris had Legendary make the 731 interiors for the Novas. I also hear they are very nice.

Good looking seat covers. I had no idea those were reproduced. I'm glad Legendary finally decided to get into Chevy parts.

I've had good luck with them also on Mopar stuff. It is nice to see more than one supplier.

I bought a '69 Nova from Tom K a couple years ago and it is close to being done, hopefully, by this summer. He supplied me some of the vinyl for the standard 731 interior. I misplaced the receipt, but I think he got it from SMS as well. I just had the front bench redone and when I took it to my upholstery guyy, I asked if he was concerned about the thickness of the material, because I had heard that comment made as well. He didn't seem concerned. Here is a shot of the seat.https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...-22229-009.jpg

Re: SMS fabric

Just got a delivery of my interior seat cover fabric from SMS for my 69 Chevelle 300 Deluxe.
They had told me 6-8 weeks, and it made it here in 7 weeks.
Maybe they are getting better at the promised delivery dates.
