Malls bring in more revenue, including tax revenue. The land just got too valuable to have the strip/track remain there.

Close more tracks and then the state and residents complain to everyone about the growing street racing problem. Sad really.

Sounds like the exact same thing that caused the closing of Riverside and Ontario. Developers just had to build malls and/or housing tracts.

Then these money mongers can't figure out why the kids go &quot;fast &amp; Furious&quot; on the city streets ... the kids have no idea what it is to go out into the country and have at it on a back road. Some places it's 50 miles to the country ...

This is why the International Brotherhood of street racers are pushing to re-open terminal island again. So far the LA city council seems to be behind them
