75 Trans Am radio install

I purchased one of those US Radios off of Ebay for my Trans Am , 1975. They say that it is a direct bolt in. It is not. The face plate that goes into the dash does not fit the radio. Anyone run into this?

Pontiac changed the opening for the radio face in 77 I think. The radio may be for the later dash.

1978 was the year they went to the bigger opening for the radio Steve.
