Engine decoding problem
Hi, help is needed. I have two engines that are hard to decode, at least for me. The first one is a V0215CHZ that decodes as a 1975 165 hp 350 engine , but the 010 block has the small pad and was cast in 1997. So it doesnīt make sense. The second one is a 10054727-block from CANADA that is stamped K0220TPM. I believe it is a 350 out of a van but Iīm not sure. canīt find the TPM-code anywhere. Both have original stampings. |
Re: Engine decoding problem
Anders,
The CHZ decodes as 1977 350 170 HP 4BBL out of a Camaro. |
Re: Engine decoding problem
TPM = 8-350 E.F.I. L05 Chev or GMC... Van application 1989

Re: Engine decoding problem
Thanks Phil, but how come the CHZ block it has a 1997 casting date ? |
Re: Engine decoding problem
Phil, do you have a hp rating for the TPM code ? |
Re: Engine decoding problem
195... not powerful but the TBI motors were reliable.

Re: Engine decoding problem
This is what it looks like Phil. I read it A-2-97, but I guess it should be read A-29-7. By the way,I canīt find the partial VIN down by the oilfilter. Where should I look ? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9camaro77b.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics..._camaro77a.jpg Thanks ! |
Re: Engine decoding problem
Anders,
I suspect a missed VIN stamp at the factory on this one. |
