Daytona Yellow '69 L78 Chevelle
Talked with a guy today that had bought new a 69 Chevelle L78 that was Daytona Yellow from Berger Chevrolet.
He has the original Car Shipper sheet, and also a couple pics from when the car was nearly new. Anyone know of a car that matches that description and has 136379B397xxx? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...scan0002_2.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...scan0003_2.jpg |

Lots of good historical info in these photos. Black MC for sure and sticker on the diverter valve for a 39XXX car. Nice!!
Good luck Rick. Phil W. |

Check out the routing of the Smog Hose under the Upper Radiator. Must have been built on a Monday or Friday
Plus the tin foil on the fuel lines....vapor lock Dan |

Re: Daytona Yellow '69 L78 Chevelle
Just in case the black MC is a question for you guys, check out line 26 on this production sheet from Chick at CRG. It's for Chevy II and Camaro and Pontiac. I kind of doubt Chevelle would be different. Granted things could have changed from the 68 model year to 69...

Re: Daytona Yellow '69 L78 Chevelle
My L78 is a Baltimore "384XXX" car built "06A". The stripes on this DY car are narrower than the RPO stripes (can't remember the code). Are they dealer or owner installed (or other RPO?)? Love the foil insulation on the gas lines. DY sure looks good on a '69 ! Here is my day two photo with smog already removed....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...hevelle027.jpg </div></div> They are factory stripes. The date on the back of the picture is March 1970, and the "Car Shipper" sheet shows 6D96DA Sport Striping. I suppose it's possible the car had been repainted in a few months after it was new, but he did have some earlier pictures that were from the fall of `69 that the stripe looked the same. |
Re: Daytona Yellow '69 L78 Chevelle
I've seen 69 SSs with a Malibu stripe before, but the daytona yellow car is definitely thicker. I compared it to my original striped car and that stripe appears to be wider.
