Scuncio Chevrolet
Hi....for the book that I'm writing, a friend hooked me up with Bob Johnson, the hi-po manager at Scuncio Chevrolet in Rhode Island. He's somewhat of an unsung hero in the Supercar world.
I wanted to see how I could get him to go to MCACN, but I've become aware there's something more important than that: https://www.gofundme.com/tjkj522w Bob suffers from Parkinson's, but it's not the usual tremors that we generally associate with the disease - it affects his speech, among other things. It's debilitating in a way that I never imagined. When I visited Bob, I was surprised to learn that he was not so much in-the-know with the hobby - aside of a book full of VINs and communication with collectors who have consulted with him in the past, he wasn't aware of MCACN, he didn't receive any subscriptions (I bought him Super Chevy and MCR), and he didn't even have an email address (can't remember if he even had a computer). If the timing is right for you, please consider helping this humble nice man. Full disclosure: I don't know the person running the GoFundMe account and have had no communication with her, although I did reach out to her on Facebook to learn more - still waiting, but not everyone is a diligent FB user. PS> If there's a better way to handle this, apologies in advance, and please let me know. |
Re: Scuncio Chevrolet
Bobs a great guy whom helped me with LM1 research some years ago. Just sent over $50..... Should have done that sooner but forgot when I was reached out to earlier.

If you grew up in Rhode Island and wanted a Fast Ford you went to Tasca but if you wanted a Hi Performance Chevrolet Bob Johnson was the man to see. His race team won races from Maine to California

Bobs a great guy who helped out a lot of people back in his day. He could use a little help from us now. Thanks
