Questionable 'new' supercar video

I just think this is NOT a fair fight (link below). The hellcat gets the crappy lane (just coming out of a turn, still on the shoulder of the lane).

Plus, if this was a street fight (typically on an expressway these days), that hennesy camaro can't shake the stock hellcat off it's mirror after the 1 minute mark.
Was neutral on Hennesy, until now.

Plus, was the hellcat an auto or manual. I would still take the stock hellcat.

I know a guy with a 2015 hennesy corvette. Runs like crap. He is very frustrated and now wishes he waited for the Z06.

I just don't buy that difference in take off, if these cars are only separated by 43HP. Its too big of a lead off.

One of the very Kool things about the Hellcat is that it is UNDERATED by the factory. It makes more power than they advertise. Similar to GM with the Z28.

How is Hennessey still in business?

Had a Hennessey car for a while. Ran like a champ. Folks at Hennessey were great - heard a story or two - though Don Goldman had come aboard by this time to look after the business side of things. Couldn't speak more highly of the experience all-around.

Unknowns in this faceoff:

Is there a 300lb driver in the hellcat? 150lb driver in camaro? They never show the drivers.
Traction control was defintely off in the camaro (it was breaking loose), was it on in the hellcat? No side shots of the hellcat trying to push the traction limits.
Same gas in both cars? The hellcat could have been running on the bottom end of the gas octane, maybe with ethanol at its max. The camaro I doubt had nothing but the best shell gas in it.
Both cars same percentage gas in tanks? I would bet that hellcat was close to spilling out and the camaro close to empty.
Tires worn down the same in back on both cars?
Both trunks empty?

If you want to post a video like this, and claim to be a high caliber company, show all the unknowns. Swap lanes, swap drivers. Show both cars topping off at the gas station.

To me (and its just me), it sounds like that camaro is pushing its safe redline to make the grade. It does its job, and sounds badass. The Hellcat does not sound like its killing itself to win to do this race (and eventually catches it), and sounds more like a car that can last another 2 yrs and extra 64K miles to make its warranty: 5 yr/100K mile product.

Could you imagine if Dodge changed some of the programming on the hellcat, pushing reduced longevity down to 3 yr/36K miles? Now that could be fun to see. Maybe they should go back to the old days of the original max wedge and hemi cars (no warranty for you!, here is your nice little yellow sticker in your glove box to remind you). Now go and kick butt!

A big part of the difference is vehicle weights. If data I have read is correct, the Challenger outweighs the Camaro by at least 500 pounds. That's a lot to overcome.

Re: Questionable 'new' supercar video

I found this article out of road and track, someone reprogrammed a stock hellcat.
Stephano is right, there is more there to the stock car. How someone can get to it without violating the warranty is another question. After a hell cat is 5 yrs old, I would try the change (nothing to lose).
