Camaro convertible with chambered exhaust
Has anyone added chambered exhaust to a 1st gen Camaro? If so, did you add spacer to the convertible floor brace or buy the aftermarket bend one that allows bigger diameter exhaust? If spacer how big did you have to go?

Re: Camaro convertible with chambered exhaust
I have Garner chambered exhaust on my BB '69 Pace Car. It's a Canadian delivered car that came from the factory with chambered. Garner exhaust system fits fine and clears that floor brace with no problem.

Re: Camaro convertible with chambered exhaust
I have a set of reproduction chambered made off the original toolding by Alan Colvin, back in the 90's I think. This set has the correct flats to clear the cross brace on convertibles. I think someone is once again reproducing the exhaust off the original tooling.

Re: Camaro convertible with chambered exhaust
I have a friend with a BB convertible, he bought a stainless steel system and had to add about 1 1/2" spacer to the plate. I'll have to watch for the flats.
bergy, I tried to find Garner and came up empty. Did you mean Gardner? Thanks. |
Re: Camaro convertible with chambered exhaust
Yes Gardner - sorry! Their exhaust systems fit like a glove!

Re: Camaro convertible with chambered exhaust
Thanks for the feedback. So is there pictures anywhere that show the flats to look for? Or any other visual cues, or measurements to tell the difference between set ups.
