finally (yes finally) sold my yenko ZL-1 engine!

After many false starts I finally found a guy that would buy it. I will miss a piece of yenko history when he picks it up. It went to a good home, a collector of Yenko stuff.

The other good news it will likely go into a car that rolled out of the yenko dealership. Since having this motor forsale, I have learned alot about a super rare car that rolled out of the yenko dealership post the super car production, as well as during. There are some surprising cars out there.

I can't say much to respect their privacy, but I would think the harmless feature on a car is a yenko door post tag that should be something that is generic to what don yenko would deem as one of his one offs outside of the COPO program. The fact at some period of time (whether when these cars were first created, or later, I was not clearly sure of this), a ZL-1 engine was installed in these types of cars (no surprise there, Don Yenko made these blocks, and had engines at his disposal).

Just as a point of interest, Camaro ZL-1 #1 had its block replaced with the exact block like mine, when it drag raced (or atleast at the end of its use). There were variants along the way from the original casting, but that one special car can likely confirm this is one of the best ones made if it held up so well under torture.

Don Yenko raced a ZL-1 powered 1969 Camaro in 1970 and was involved in other ZL-1 powered race cars over the years. I know of race Corvettes and a IMSA Monza

The Yenko alum Chevy block came out about 1984
Yenko Chevy closed in 1981 but Yenko still had a Chevy hi po parts business until he died Mar. 5, 1987.

I know Yenko sponsored some drag race cars that used his Yenko block
would have to have been in about 1984 to 1987
