Re: Vintage Ansen Cast Iron Scattershiel Bellhousings
Jason,
Just an FYI, those old scatter shields are made out of cast <span style="text-decoration: underline">steel</span>, not cast iron. Big strength difference. http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=7891.0;all GLWS |

Re: Vintage Ansen Cast Iron Scattershiel Bellhousings
One other thing, the 56-62 Corvettes <span style="text-decoration: underline">did not</span> need the mounting points on the bellhousing like the 55, 56 and 57 passenger cars. They picked up the back mounting point at the rear of the transmission instead. You might think that would be a long span, since the front mount was attached to the block using the water pump bolts, but that's how they were mounted.
