There is an extensive history and documentation of Danny's preservation of this car on CRG. This is truly a rare opportunity to buy a great car.

Saw this car at MCACN in 2015, a great reference car, I find the date code interestingly close to the final production date, allowing for shipping times for axels and engines GM, it truly was "Just in Time"

My 68 Z28 is exactly that way...very tight dates and even share alot of the same dates.

Value is a good question. In Jerry's report it sounded like he would recommend it be painted to prevent further decay. I saw it in Chicago and would agree with that. Does it get a complete restoration or just a paint job.

I would be tempted to just paint. As mentioned, it is a good reference car. But, all the referencing has been detailed to the max.

Tough decision. Once you start, where do you stop? Then you have guys that take serious issue with "survivor with one repaint."

it needs a resto..

my buddy has a 70 Hemi orange HEMI roadrunner..real survivor stuff..mint under 30k real miles (no speedo disconnect crap)

he's won every award he can..he's enjoyed as much as can be enjoyed as it is..and it has a similar paint prob..for 10 years, he's on the see-saw..does he leave it or paint it..then that leads to..how far..

I keep telling him to sell it as is and let someone else decide its fate...

take the money and restore his triple black 70 6-pak Charger ..it needs it for sure..has gator grain top, moon roof, 4 gear etc..and number match everything....then enjoy the charger as a done car, with a clear conscious, and not worry about destroying the "survivor" status of the Roadrunner

its a tuff call for sure...
