Are All NOS Parts Created Equal?

Apologies for trying to be clever with title.
Here is what I would like feed back on: This question is primarily regarding 69 Camaro sheet metal. I have read that NOS is not stamped as well as assembly line pieces. I understand it was because of dies that were at the end of their life. A lot of the sheet metal was made all the way up into the 1990 s. Labels on the newer stuff has a barcode.

Are old NOS sheet metal that has the old part number tags, say pre '82 more valuable than their newer counter parts? If a fella has quarters or fenders, etc...perhaps even from the 70s, how does the pricing compare to a bar code label piece? Or, is there even a difference in quality or price? What affects NOS sheet metal value?

I don't think most people know the difference and the newer NOS stuff many times sells for same price as old NOS... although it seems many people seem to think that there is a difference.

Although there are a few repo parts that are nicer than GM.

Would you care to elaborate on what repro parts are regarded as better than GM?

Emblems IMHO are a lot cleaner than originals in most cases. There is a lot of flashing on the originals.. But that is a small example.

And I agree with iluv69s.. Most people do not realize that the newer NOS stuff has the unfortunate situation where there have been several thousand or in some cases millions of castings or stampings and it wears on the tooling or molds. This also depends on the care of said molds and dies..

As for repop parts, emblems and such, I have often heard it said that Trim Parts makes repop parts that are nicer than NOS.

I guess your question was answered... certain emblems are nearly impossible to find real nice NOS..

If I had the option of older NOS parts versus newer for my own build, I'll take the older pieces every time.

I have bought OER header emblems and they are crap - look nice but studs aren't close to original, fine if you have to drill new holes but not if yours already has OE holes. The OER a-pillar are pure junk too

NOS parts of any age are not the same as assembly line parts. Just check out Chic's 68 Z restoration. He shows the parts and the differences. So what really is correct or better?
I have NOS parts that Heartbeat City told me were of no value, but they have the same thing listed on their site for top dollar.
