67-69 Camaro Deck Lid / ID ??????
4 Attachment(s)
How do I ID the below deck lid as being GM or aftermarket repro ???
Could not find date code as shown in another current deck lid thread |
|
Joe, I had not seen the info at Camaros.Org...so thanks
I still need to look/find the date....I "think" this has never been on a car, as exterior is still black primer. Nothing in the linked article pointed out how the repro deck lids differ ???? |
I'm still wanting to determine what I have with my first gen Camaro deck lid ???
Cant see date anywhere Doesnt have any "hole" like the service replacement..... Seems like a new/never installed but I cant prove anything !!!!!! |
bump...
Has no stamped numbers/letters that I can see |
Date stamped will be in the area of the link posted previously. More than likely filled from heavy paint. But to narrow it down that lid was used between Jan-Feb to around April-May. Reasoning is it appears to have the TA holes as well as the tabs at the lip of the lid.
|
Do the repros have the TA holes ?
|
Yes but I have not seen a repo that has the tabs also. Not saying there isn’t any but I have not seen them.
|
Charley, I realize its been a few weeks but while searching for another topic I ran across this pic in a thread over on CRG. Repo lid without TA holes but without tabs.
http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=3752.0 Also compare the stamping contour in the emblem location. http://www.protouring.se/files/z28_trunklid.jpg REPO http://www.protouring.se/files/oer_trunklid.jpg |
