Is there a way to date Edelbrock intakes???

Is there a way to date Edelbrock intakes if they have been in production for many years?
I know the catalogs and ads will give you a start date and last year produced.
So did Edelbrock use a date code or change part numbers after a revision was made?

Thanks
Bernhard

Simply put...no.

Don't over analyze it...just find one of the old ones shown in any of the old catalogs and you're good to go for Day II stuff. They didn't date cast them like GM did, and most of their part numbers were carried for many years before they went onto newer style runners etc.

The early style script writing on the intake is a good clue as to the intakes dating, but I'd suggest getting your hands on an old catalog to check part numbers used during a given time.

Sorry Bernhard,

Forgot that you were building an Old's. I should have saw that before but was somehow still thinking Chevy

Thanks for the reply.
The Oldsmobile racer could only dream of such a selection of performance intake manifolds.
I'm building a 69 442 post bench stick period correct Jr stock.
The intake that I'm looking at is for a second engine that I will be building using the O4B4
Edelbrock.
I will be using a Q-jet carb
I have seen a few different versions of the intake and was wondering if I could date code them.

Thanks again
