This is a Cat 4 hurricane. If you live in it's path . . . GET OUT NOW! |
I'm in the middle of South Carolina. I'm expecting a lot of rain. I hope the winds have calmed down by the time it gets here.
|
3 crews from Hydro Ottawa left here today to lend a hand.Stay safe down there in S.C.& N.C.!
|
Wilmington NC is right in the path. Great City I have visited there. I hope all is well there and abroad...

By late Thursday afternoon, the Carolina coasts can expect winds topping 80 mph. And that's just the prelude to untold days of misery.
What also makes Florence extremely dangerous are the deadly storm surges, mammoth coastal flooding and historic rainfall expected far inland. https://s26.postimg.cc/65sj5o3g9/BBNhu_AD.jpg |

Tropical storm Joyce has now joined the party.

Some very bad news . . . less than 15% of all the homes damaged by the flooding caused by hurricane Florence have Flood Insurance. Regular Home Owners Insurance does not cover damage to home/property caused by flooding. Flood insurance is sold by the government: (and managed by FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This issue also affects people who rent as far as their belongings.
The storm has been blamed for 17 deaths, 11 of them in North Carolina. |
