'70 #s Z/28 4-spd, Very Clean Southwest Car, Docs
Neat car - not my favorite color combo but I could be coerced into owning this one....
Sold new at Valley Chevrolet in Roswell, NM. What do you guys think of the deck stamp? Link to 1970 Z/28 auction https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/xqQAA...jg/s-l1600.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/1GUAA...MI/s-l1600.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/8qEAA...Bu/s-l1600.jpg 124870L504910 |
I do not have an issue with the Flint stamping...but this is an LA car, so the block pad should have the partial VIN...not on the rough casting by the oil filter....not to mention it's dated after the car's trim tag date.

"How is January 22-27 after the 2nd week of February? (02B)"
Crap...my mistake. I had in my mind it was a Feb 27 date. Either way, all other indicators point to it being a Norwood engine now residing in a Van Nuys chassis. |
Dean the owner before the now new owner, from Phoenix AZ had the car listed on and off on craigslist for 4-5 years. It sold around March 8, 2018. If anyone would like Dean's number PM me.Attached are some pictures when it was listed on Craigslist.

I have seen 1969 Van Nuys camaro's with the vin stamped by the oil filter so why do you think just because the vin in by the oil filter is not correct? Did they change something in 1970? |
Simply put...yes. Based on other known LA stamps in the same era of production, the partial VIN should be on the pad.
