'64 Biscayne Wagon 4-spd with A/C
Someone who likes to preserve original cars should really buy this. I'd own it if I could afford it and had room. This car was sold at Mecum last year in Chicago for $8250. It has 3 miles on it since then. The ad says it's a 283 but it's a 250hp 327. Silver on Red. I don't have the VIN, but the cowl tag confirms the options. Rare as hens teeth!
A dealer has it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Chevro...53.m1438.l2649 Verne Sorry, but it won't let me post photos. |
Man! I gotta start attending Mecum.

I have a hard time believing the mileage is over 100K.
Original master cylinder Plug wires are still run under the exhaust manifolds Carpet wear Steering wheel wear Front seat wear That silver is still original judging by the stains and dings but original silver faded away much faster than what it shows. Verne |
My first car was a 64 Chevy wagon...it didn't look like that...283 glide...burned more oil than gas:smirk:

That's correct, and this car has the correct 327 emblems on the fenders. The person who sold it at Mecum and this dealer just don't know the difference.

Rookies! It takes an Old Guy to remember the details. We were always looking for the 327 or 409 cars first and it was an easy way to tell them apart. If I had a choice, I personally liked the 63's better. We always carried an extra center support and a couple of U-Joints in the glove box "Just In Case".

----Verne,,,Am I correct thinking that 327/250HPs had the emblem shown on this wagon and 327/300s had a 327 number emblem above? I seem to remember that,, but I'm not sure......Bill S

Bill,
Both 327s got the same fender emblem. No 327 call-outs on '62-'64s. I confirmed the 250hp version on this wagon by a close look at the carb. It's a Carter WCFB (250hp only, although most were the Rochester 4GC) Also the 2 row radiator confirms 250hp. 300hp with A/C would have gotten the 340hp 409 radiator. Verne |
