Bill Thomas Phase 3 Original engine found !
After being stuck at home like everyone else I decided to clean the garage, something ive been wanting to do for 30 years ! . I went into the corner where I havent been in quite some time and the first block I came upon buried under milk crates of junk is apparantly the factory 396/375 motor from the Bill Thomas converted 67 camaro. The most amazing thing about the find is on the floor behind the motor was the paperwork and notes to the L89 motor I owned and had sold to the owner of the Turquoise 67 Nickey camaro from decades ago. What a coincidence ! Along side the MR motor are 2 L78 67 chevelle motors,2 never stamped or decked 406 blocks and a MT L89 camaro motor. All with VINS which I will be chasing next. For the most part I at least kept the 406 blocks in order, all are May dates ,all 3 with TO524 stamp pads . Not a bad way to start a cleaning project. Cant wait to see what I find next.

Wishing you the best of luck reuniting those motors and the cars they were born with.
A garage ought to have at least three more corners... looking forward to more discoveries. |
Amazing what we accumulate over the years. Congrats on what you found.

Was hoping it wasnt damaged sleeved or otherwise when i checked for first time today . Took a main bearing out and its GM, standard bore,no damage.
