1968 427 l-72 engine
 

Hi , I’m new to this site today, I don’t know if this is the right place to ask about a motor I have but maybe someone knows the car it belongs to. It’s a 1968 427 block #3935439 date C-8. 4 bolt main, pad #TO314ID , vin is hard to read #18T217283 ?best I could read , and larger numbers upside down stamped over vin are #4783, that’s we’re I’m confused. The heads are #3919840 dated. A-8 . I built it a few years back With all new parts , I was gona race it but never did. I got the block from a machine shop in New York. I think it’s for an impala 427 /425 hp l-72. Or other car? Just asking maybe somebody know something ,thank you.

That is a 1968 Full Size car block, 425HP for sure. Hopefully Warren Leunig will chime in. He keeps a pretty good database on these engines anas well as the cars with missing engines.
