'69 RS/SS L78, VV Cooke Sold, Docs

Cool car, needs some original GM door panels and some good pics of the engine block stamp. Has the rarely seen tach and center fuel gauge.

The seller is claiming 'matching numbers' but I'd want to see a good pic...the absence of any pic makes me wonder.

Car went through Mecum Kissimmee back in January. Described as retaining "the matching-numbers 396/375 HP engine and matching-numbers 4-speed manual transmission feeding a 4.10:1 rear end."
Description also said "Extensive Eckler's receipts included" (not sure that'd be a selling point, but at least describes the restoration).
Crappy pic of the Protect-o-plate from the Mecum website:

Car was final-assembled on or about October 3, 1968. That's about 12 weeks prior to the release of U16 as an option.

Would have been built with 1st design rear spoiler, D90 stripe and head restraints. Resto not commensurate with the asking price.

Interesting - that one was sold in my hometown, and the address listed on the POP is right down the road from my office. That car probably roamed the streets around here when I was growing up.

It would be interesting to see where all it's been.

Looks like an older, mostly driver quality restoration. Should not have a sharp taped line of paint across the top of the firewall.

Love all the inspection by you guys, so what is this car worth or a fair offer with what has been pointed out?

Been to over two dozen auctions over the past decade; logged results. Only 11 of the many '396' Camaros were considered comparable since 2015.

Low $40,700 [nom, JM docs] high $88,000. Avg $61,618. Only 3 were RS including the $88k car. Other two were among the lowest sale prices.

FWIW the car in question [N515164] was a no-sale @ $72,000.

Hate to rat out the car, but 9N515164 was rolling shell with a 10 bolt back in 2002. No docs.
It grew a L78 and a POP....
