'72 #s 4-speed Z/28

I like the look of this one - original white on black '72 Z with the original engine. The paint looks pretty tired but the body looks relatively solid except for the (disclosed) rust in the window channels.

Not sure it's worth $25k, but it's certainly a valuable and rare car. Might have to dip into the teens to sell though.

If you are just looking for a fun driver, the best part about a 72 Z is you can easily build it closer to 70 LT-1 specs (might want to come down to 10.5 compression if you don't have easy access to avgas) and have a screaming small block four speed that looks all stock and runs like stink for an older car.

Biggest issue for me on this one is the rust around the rear window. Seller describes it as "surface rust", but surface rust does not result in water leaks. That rust started way down under the glass and is tin worming its way up. Some metal will have to come out and be replaced to make it right.

I think Tony is right on. Not a bad buy in the teens.

Good points, Lynn. If this one were an RS I think it would be a contender closer to the asking price.
