----Nice resto on a fairly mundane (if anyone thinks of a GTO as mundane) 66 Goat. It is a killer color combo and I would guess pretty rare. Those Thornton's do beautiful work!.....Bill S

Yes, beautiful car.
Unusual enough to find one with the standard 3 speed, but to still retain it after all these years is really rare. My '66 Chevelle SS came with the HD 3 speed but was long gone by the time I acquired the car. |
Nice resto, $108k BIN...?

Would the paint mix code for the dark blue on the roof be the same as 66 Chevrolet Danube blue? If so, it looks like this car has WAAAY too much metallic in the dark blue, and/or it is more modern large-grain metallic (not the small grain stuff used in the 60's). Terry Davis went through an extreme amount of time and effort to get the exact right metallic in my 67 Deepwater Blue Elcamino, so I know (from multiple test spray panels) what a huge difference it makes if newer style metallic is incorrectly used.
Beautiful car regardless though! |
